Last September 15, I was invited to the grand opening of Korea’s #1 beauty brand, The Face Shop, in SM Megamall. With over 3,000 stores in 34 different countries, this newly re-opened branch stands among the 75 others in the Philippines, this time, being the first to carry the different collections of their partner brands.
Personally, I’ve always been a huge fan of their products, especially their cosmetics. For the past 2 years, their Designing Eyebrow Pencil has been my holy grail among all my everyday makeup picks. So when I found out that SM Megamall would now be hosting their collection in a new and improved store, I snagged my wallet and made a beeline for the shop!
At first glance, my inner IG addict couldn’t help but sing praises for the gorgeous interiors. I’m a big fan of earthy tones against white canvases, so the store’s built ticked off al the right boxes for me.
What I loved most about it is its vertical orientation, as opposed to a more closed-off and boxy space. The room, despite having quite a number of buzzing customers, was very easy to navigate and properly divided according to the products’ categories.
But of course, I didn’t just spend my whole visit gawking at the interior design!
The lovely Bench team was so kind as to sponsor my little shopping trip, so I’m so excited to share with you all the different products I both discovered and re-purchased in celebration of their grand opening!
My Picks
It was a no-brainer for me— I had to stock up on their Designing Eyebrow Pencil. Over the years, I’ve gone back and forth between different brands to no avail. It was only The Face Shop who could provide me with an eyebrow pencil that was both pigmented and long-lasting. If you have black roots like me, then their Designing Eyebrow Pencil in 06 Dark Gray is the perfect product to give you those natural looking strokes. There is a fine line between gray and black eyebrow pencils; the latter is a complete no-no for me, so I definitely appreciate the balance that The Face Shop maintains.
I’ve never purchased anything from their themed collections, but since Ate Bearose is a big fan of the KAKAO Friends, I got her this Hoodie Ryan Blossom Lip Tint in the shade Red It, which was a deep, almost purple-ish red.
Now I wanted to go outside of my comfort zone and get something new for myself. Oddly enough, I’ve never tried any of their skincare products, so I decided to go through their Anti-Acne section. I found their Dr. Belmeur collection interesting, but a little outside of my price range for testing, so I checked out the rest of their categories and stumbled upon their Clean Face Mild Toner in the Men’s section. I gave it a thought and decided it would be useful to switch up my current acne-targeted toner with salicylic acid with something gentler for other days. I’ve been using it for a few days now, but I’ll hold of making any comments until I’ve finished my month-log test.
New Brands
Aside from my own purchases, the Bench team was so kind as to gift with me a few other products from their new partner brands to try out. Again, I’ll hold off revealing them before trying them out, but I do want to introduce to you all the brands themselves first.
Sooryehan
Sooryehan deviates away from new, edgy, and futuristic technology to create their skincare products. Instead, they believe in beauty secrets that have been passed on from generation to generation. They use traditional Korean ingredients, because tried-and-tested processes will always breed the most authentic beauty regimens.
Eco Beyond
Eco Beyond emphasizes the importance of skincare that’s not only good for you, but for the environment too. They use natural ingredients, and and do not contain harmful additives like colorants, chemical fragrances, or preservatives. These products also uphold their philosophy of manufacturing cruelty-free and recyclable packaging.
How about you— what are you buying from The Face Shop?
